Tongue Drum Online (available at tonguedrum.app) is a free, browser-based virtual steel tongue drum instrument operated by Tongue Drum Online. The app runs entirely in your browser using the Web Audio API and HTML5 Canvas — no server-side processing of your musical activity ever takes place.

By using this website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.

2. Eligibility and Access

This service is free to use and open to anyone with a compatible web browser. No account registration, email address, or payment of any kind is required at any time, now or in the future.

You may use Tongue Drum Online on any device — desktop, tablet, or smartphone — and may install it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for offline use at no cost.

3. Permitted Use

You are welcome to use Tongue Drum Online for any lawful personal or professional purpose, including:

Any audio you generate using the app is produced by your own interaction with a synthesis engine running locally in your browser. We make no claim over sounds you create.

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the application in a way that disrupts or degrades the service for other users
• Use automated tools to generate excessive server load (though, as a static site, the app has minimal server-side footprint)

5. Intellectual Property

The Tongue Drum Online application — including its source code, visual design, sound synthesis algorithms, and written content — is the intellectual property of Tongue Drum Online and is protected by applicable copyright law.

The name "Tongue Drum Online" and associated visual identity are proprietary to Tongue Drum Online.

Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond the limited right to use the service as described here.

6. Your Content

The app includes a recording feature that captures your note timings locally in your browser's memory. These recordings are never transmitted anywhere — they exist only in your current browser session and are lost when you close or refresh the page.

If you choose to use a custom scale, your scale configuration is saved in your browser's localStorage — a storage area on your own device that no one else can access. We have no access to this data.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Tongue Drum Online is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.

The app depends on your browser's Web Audio API implementation. Sound quality and behaviour may vary between browsers and devices. We cannot guarantee identical results across all environments.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Tongue Drum Online and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — this service.

Because the service is free and collects no personal data, the practical scope of any possible liability is correspondingly limited.

9. Third-Party Services

Tongue Drum Online does not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, social login, or tracking services. The only external resource loaded by the app is the Google Fonts stylesheet (for the Fredoka One and Inter typefaces), which is a standard web font delivery service.
